Beta-Stage 0.1

Ninja Jump - Beta stage

A long time has passed by since we posted an update. In this stage of the game, we fixed a lot of bugs, added a lot of art work and improved the general look and feel of our game. We changed the movement of our main player character which makes it more dynamically.  We added different art work for our enemies and poles, Multi-Touch,  ...

The game feels and plays differently now.

// -- General - Information -- //

-------------------------------------

The coding has improved significantly, the gameplay feels more dynamic now.
We improved:

-  Enemies move smoother and feel less robust when you attack them.
-  The player movement has been revamped in such a way that it feels more alive than stationary coded positions.
-  The poles and chains spawn with better offsets that are manageable.
-  High score saving is implemented aswell (not visible yet in U.I.)

// -- Menu -- //

-----------------

We liked the previous menu design but something felt off, we wanted to make it visually less heavy on the eyes.
The team decided to simplify the menu and gave it a more minimalistic look. There are some extra features added, enable / disable sound effects, enable / disable music and checking out the highscore leaderboard (WIP).

// -- Gameplay -- //

----------------------

//-- Enemies --//

Enemies will spawn randomly with random health points, the player has to him them 1 - 3 times before he dies. The previous enemy was just a cube so we changed that to a mini ninja to give the game a better immersion. We've also added sound effects for when the enemy dies.

//-- Poles --//

The poles have different art assets now and places in such manner that the offset has a smoother transition.  We added a little particle effect for when the pole gets hit by a shuriken.

//-- Hanging --//

The hanging poles didn't get a major fix (yet), we're still working on this part.

//-- In-game U.I. --//

The player has now the option to pause, reset or quit anytime he wants.
Also when you die, you have the option to reset the level or to return to the main menu

//-- Final Thoughts --//

We are polishing the game now and we want to improve some aspects of the gameplay to a certain extent, but this update should already give a general vibe on how the game will feel like when its finished.
We have some tasks left to finish:
- sound effects
- music
- hanging pole
- high score leader board
- adds

We believe that the game will be finished in two - three weeks.
(there is a playable version online now!) (for Android)
